The Pineal Gland

The Pineal Gland

Since times immemorial, the pineal gland has been given a lot of importance in spirituality. Ancient civilizations knew that it is the doorway to the spiritual world. Unsurprisingly, a lot of their practices were aimed at developing and opening up the powers of this gland.

In the modern world, however, knowledge about the mystical nature of the pineal gland has dissipated quite a bit. As such, most people are not even aware that they are missing out on higher dimensions of life and reality. Therefore, it’s important to spread this knowledge and make it a part of the mainstream again.

What Is The Pineal Gland?

The pineal gland is a pea-sized gland that is situated in the middle of your brain. Up until a few decades ago, scientists didn’t understand what the gland was and how it functioned. Most of them believed it to be a vestigial organ (organs that are supposedly useless leftovers from our evolutionary past.)

However, now it’s widely understood that the pineal gland has some significant functions. For one, it produces melatonin, the hormone that regulates your sleep-wake cycle. Most recently, this gland has also been associated with DMT (dimethyltryptamine). DMT is a naturally occurring substance that gives you vivid visuals and psychic experiences.

Why Is It Important In Spirituality?

While the physical functions of the pineal gland are significant without a doubt, its spiritual functions are way more meaningful. After all, it is called the “seat of the soul.” This physical organ is your bridge to the metaphysical dimensions of reality. It helps you realize that the physical dimension is just one, tiny sliver of reality. In doing so, it helps you experience the true nature of your existence.

The ancients realized that it’s your pineal gland that is actually your third eye chakra. If you didn’t already know, the chakra system is responsible for the flow of life force energy in the human body. This life force energy is the foundation of life itself. It is also your path to enlightenment.

The third eye chakra, in particular, is a highly mystical chakra that helps you perceive higher dimensions of reality. It gives you a supernatural sense of perception that goes above and beyond your five sense organs. This is also why the pineal gland is known as the seat of intuition. People who have an activated and open third eye chakra simply know things that are outside the realm of other people. Those who have mastered their third eye chakra also gain access to powers like telepathy, clairvoyance, lucid dreaming, and astral projection.

However, the most important aspect of the pineal gland is that it helps you transcend your physical nature. It helps you realize that you are not a physical being. Instead, you are a spiritual being that has adopted a physical body for a brief period. With this realization, a person is able to achieve a much higher state of consciousness. And this state of consciousness is known as Nirvana (or enlightenment), where they are able to free themselves of any physical limitations and merge with divine consciousness.
